From Farm to Cup and BeyondOur British founders, John Coote and Russell Collings-Wells were pioneering adventurers who ran coffee farms in present day Kenya in the early part of the 20th century. They then returned from Nairobi and began roasting in London producing exceptional coffee from 1925. We continue to be an independent, British, family-run business that’s been built around our founders’ passion for coffee, extending our product range extensively to encompass teas, hot chocolates and juices from around Africa, South America, Central America and Asia. However, our guiding principles remain the same. We are authentic and flexible, from sourcing and roasting through blending and packaging, we deliver exceptional personal service that guides you from farm to cup and beyond.

We still roast and pack exclusively in Britain, combining traditional methods with state-of-the-art machinery to bring you a huge array of quality coffees. Did you know that coffee loses its flavour quickly after its roasted? That is why we roast and pack our coffee every 1 or 2 weeks to consistently produce the freshness that is evident in our products. Our range of premium teas are produced exclusively in the UK. As a result, we are proud to guarantee you quality, consistency, and control – whatever your requirement. Our close relationship with coffee growing communities continues to this day, and fulfils an important aspect of the company’s philosophy, and concern for the environment. We are dedicated to sourcing coffees through ethical trading and emphasise the need for this at every stage of the production and the consumption process. We are also aware of the environment and the concerns over the world’s limited natural resources. We encourage the use of environmentally sound practices, from the utilisation of organic growing methods, through to using recyclable products and state of the art catalysers to reduce the impact of emissions during roasting. We proudly support Cool Earth in their journey to save the rainforest and endangered species.
