The 1945 Blue Mountain Blend Backstory
The Nairobi Coffee and Tea Company was founded over one hundred years ago, and ever since that time we have been cultivating and recording recipes, some of which have become iconic coffee blends.
Now in our second century of roasting, we revisited our bestselling creations from an earlier era. With that sense of curiosity, we turned to our 1940s Heritage Collection of coffees.
Our 1945 Blue Mountain Blend is inspired by the taste and aroma of traditional Blue Mountain Coffee. It was originally created to honour Victory in Europe and to mark the formal incorporation of The Nairobi Coffee and Tea Company, making it a rather special coffee blend indeed.
The taste and aroma of 1940s coffees were very different from today’s blends. This gentle approach to roasting a particular selection of coffee beans produces a refinement that leaves you satisfied, uplifted, and ready for the day ahead.
What we have lovingly recreated can be summed up in a single phrase. The 1945 Blue Mountain Blend tastes like serenity after victory.
